High-quality everyday playback when a High encode is available.

Full QualityBit-perfect lossless FLAC

Source-aware playback: For each song, Best Available selects Studio Original when available; otherwise it selects Full Quality, then the best remaining stream.

How OUTERLIGHT prepares the music

Real quality, verified at every stage.

The processing follows the actual source. OUTERLIGHT creates practical listening copies while preserving genuine lossless or Studio Original quality only when the upload supports it.

  1. Inspect the source

WAV, FLAC, MP3 or AAC/M4A is fully decoded and checked for format, duration, channels, sample rate, corruption and technical warning signals.

  2. Create listening copies

A lower-data AAC copy is prepared. Eligible lossless and Studio Original sources also receive a High AAC encode, up to 320 kbps for stereo.

  3. Prove the FLAC

Integer WAV or FLAC masters are stored as FLAC, then decoded and compared with the original PCM audio before Full Quality is claimed.

  4. Preserve Studio Original

An eligible 32-bit-float PCM WAV is preserved exactly, then verified byte-for-byte after upload and before publication.

No fake lossless labels. The quality shown always follows the verified source available for that song. Technical mix warnings are surfaced for a manual listen instead of automatically rejecting an artistic choice.
